This study aims to explore and compare the personality traits of female volleyball players across three different age groups: Sub-Junior, Junior, and Senior levels. Personality traits play an essential role in an athlete's psychological profile and can significantly influence their behavior, performance, and teamwork. For this purpose, the Big Five Personality Inventory (BFI) was administered to 90 female volleyball players across the three age groups, comprising 30 players in each group. Descriptive statistics and ANOVA were used to analyze the personality traits of each group. The results revealed significant differences across the groups in terms of Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism, and Openness. Senior players exhibited higher levels of Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, and Openness compared to the Sub-Junior group, while Neuroticism was lowest among Senior players. These findings suggest that personality traits tend to evolve with age and experience, reflecting the maturation process of athletes in the sport. The implications of these results could be significant for coaches and sports psychologists, as understanding these personality trends may help in better training, team selection, and fostering positive team dynamics.
